Honorable Act
You will all agree with me that as long as we are living in this fallen world which still suffers from the impact of sin, we will every so often need to forgive or to be forgiven. That is  because in life under the sun offence must come. Personally I can’t remember how many times I had to forgive and was in need of forgiveness.  I have learnt that forgiveness can be either instantaneous or gradual depending on the magnitude of the offence.  The hardest pill to swallow as a Christian is that you have to forgive (who said Christianity was easy, living for God is the hardest job on earth!!!! (But the most honourable).  But the words of Jesus are still living through the ages and they are simple you can’t misspell them “forgive as your father has forgiven you” super oooouuch! Isn’t?  . Forgiveness is like a journey, a journey begins with an intention, you plan to get somewhere. No one boards a bus and have way the trip starts wondering, where am I headed, (unless the wires upstairs are incorrect or loose, for such help should be provided). So we embark on a journey after we have decided on our destination, which in this case is emotional freedom and healing.  Deciding to start this journey may not be as hard as the ability to stay focused, follow through, to refuse distraction and actually get there.  I have had to take this journey in the time past and half way the trip the fresh memories of the offence would wash away with great intensity all the strength I had gathered. A times the offender may belittle your agony, sometimes they may repeat it again, they may come across as non-remorseful, this can easily distract you from your goal or even weaken you , you might actually decide to cut short the journey  and justify the right to remain in offence. It is at this point that you remind yourself this truth “it takes the will to obey God not the emotions”. In the scriptures we see many times when David had to address his will, e.g.” I will praise the Lord”  he will pour out his overwhelming negative  emotions and lament on why God can’t just ‘break somebody’s neck’ but then he would make a choice to overcome those emotions and remain  focused.   I have trained myself to be honest with God and speak to him about the difficulties I encounter as I try to obey him. This is not your usual prayers it’s an honest chat with my dad….. . This conversation with God leaves me very energized. It is in this kind of chats that God reminds me that he had justifiable reasons not to forgive us without violating his justice, but he had to sacrifice in order to forgive. It has to cost somebody something for forgiveness to take place.  God accepted to give away his son because he was motivated by love.  We can be motivated by our love for God, when faced with the need to forgive, we can always choose between obeying God and nursing our feelings and our rights, it not easy I know, but I said earlier living for God is not easy.  Honest prayers for extra grace will see you through this most honourable act of forgiving.  I would like to hear from you how you cope with forgiveness, the challenges you face and how you follow through.

When an ordinary woman meets an extraordinary God, normal life takes on a whole new meaning. Knowing God changes everything. We cannot encounter the living God and be the same. A personal relationship with Him produces a holy discontent with the status quo and compels us to live in such a way that miracles are a daily occurrence and i am one of those daily miracles. People are desperately looking for ordinary women like you and me whose lives have been changed by an extraordinary God. I want to be hungry and thirsty for God as never before. I want my normal life to be abnormally extraordinary because God is alive and well and at work in and around me. How about you? Are you ready to step out in faith? Are you willing to live a normal life filled with people and circumstances that can only be explained by the extraordinary power and presence of God? ~ estracted from Girlfriends in God..

I have been reading on the power of imagination a topic that Lester Sumrall  has written on in-depth. Based on Romans 12 “And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind (a mind that could not think straight), to do those things which are not convenient”. In other words all the sinners in the world became so by imagination. This sent me thinking, we are creatures of thought; our mind is the organ of thought. My mind has power to reason, decide, and imagine unborn things.  As you know our minds occupies a large part of our total life. We demonstrate what we imagine through the way we act and live, it is said that imagination is the force of destiny.

As Christians we are not to let our imaginations run loose, but harness them as Apostle Paul would have us do by ,staying on the things that are pure things that are acceptable ,noble and of good report.  Sumrall warns “If your mind is empty, the devil will activate it. If you do not know what to think about, the devil will give you something.

I now understand why the scriptures keeps telling us to watch out on where our minds are they have great peace whose minds are stayed on Him). As a man thinketh or (imagines) so is he. It is our responsibility to imagine right.

Now am imagining myself size 8, am imagining myself with arms  like Michele Obama, am imagining feeding my chicken in my dream farmhouse , eating veggies from my organic farm  food.

Before you judge me, of being self-centred I am also imagining Africa saved, free from sickness, poverty and ignorance. The list continues; remember there is tremendous power locked in our imagination.

From now imagine the right, when wrong imaginations invade you do as Paul said pull them down and bring to subjection……………let love reign

Charles Haun once stated that "knowing God requires personal loss"...
But that is a pill that not many people are not willing to swallow.  To know Christ is to know perfection, to know blamelessness, it is to know life itself but many of us are not willing to get there.
You see my sisters and friends I have come to learn that they are many levels of knowing God and we decide the extent we are willing to sacrifice to know Him better.

I have also come to learn that Jesus is not only the great I am but he is the great Distuber, he disturbed the Sadducees,

he disturbed the Pharisees,
he disturbs the makers if the law,
by shedding His light too brightly and I guarantee that He will disturb you too!!!!.

He has personally interfered with me a lot, messed my perception completely, fixed my attitude and I can tell you the He continues.  Through the many experiences I have had and my personal journey with God I have come to the realisation that if I can accept His disturbance, I can get to know perfection itself.

As we live this life we often try to balance pursuing Jesus and maintaining the status quo... by this I mean maintaining how we want to live, what we want to do and when as long as he disturbs nothing or re- arrange anything, but often times Jesus will bring the temple down to its purpose 'house of prayer'

As i write this I am looking back at the numerous times I had to go and apologize to people who should have apologized  to me instead and it was just because Jesus said " when our brother offends you take heed of yourself'.  And I often times at face value I am justified to be hurt and upset, feeling betrayed and let down but I remember my life should always be a testimony so just because of this DISTURBANCE I find myself letting go of my ego and pride but the reward is
always worthwhile!!!

So share with me and the many other ladies that read this blog and find inspiration- How Jesus has disturbed your life, how he has wrestled with you, thrown you according to your terms 'of- course' forced you to reflect on the perceptions you have held so dearly

I entered the year 2013 with great sense of victory. I felt assured that this is the year of establishment , fulfilment of various promises and great victory. Irrespective of what or how the circumstances maybe currently. Am relentless in my confession that this is the year of the Lords favour . Looking at how God established the heavens and the earth, through his word , words then becomes paramount this year, if God will establish through his word then his word has to be in our mouth. We have to speak what we want to see. We have to be conscious of our confession. Our words comes from the abundance of our heart, the best thing then is to follow Pauls instruction where he instructs us to fill our hearts with those things that are lovely , of good report, noble, true .....if this floods our only good will come from our mouth eventually the good will overtake our lives. It is so easy to be swallowed up in the street language and talk like the word, but as believers we should be conscious of the power of life and death that is in our tongue. Let us be watchful in 2013 let us say what we want to see.
we win ....much love Ev Jay
